What We Did
The Outcome
AI is not the answer. It’s just practice.
The deck is a talk for designers on where we are with AI and what it is costing us. It opens with the landscape: the mood in the field, how much AI is actually in use, the job cuts it gets blamed for, and the money going in without coming back. Then the cost: budgets for tokens and not for people, the entry level going quiet, and the specialty we lost. Then the common threads: why you have to teach it everything, the steps no tool replaces, and what it cannot know.
Then who is accountable: who approves it, who carries it, who benefits, and what rule applies when nobody speaks up. Then the examples: Starbucks, Deloitte, PocketOS and twenty more, every one preventable with a baseline, a review, a fact check, an owner, a gate or a meter. It closes on what this means: it is a suit, never the superhero; learn it anyway; how I work with it; and six questions to ask out loud. Every number links to its source.

I decided to create a microsite that keeps track of all of the happenings with AI.
I built a Twitter style feed for you to view various aspects of what’s happening in the world with AI, the good and the bad, each story linked to the reporting it came from. Search is the main control: type a company, a mistake or a cure. Categories narrow it further, from Health and Accessibility to Human error and Made-up answers. Three views: a timeline, a grid, and a wall you can drag in any direction. Open the feed. Read the journal post.
